Effects Caused by Pilot Shortage
It has been reported lately that there is a drastic shortage of pilots worldwide. One of the contributing factors of this problem is that the instructors in various aviation schools worldwide end up discouraging their students on how they will not secure jobs after school.
Also, the amount of money that the recent pilots are paid is too low according to statistics and this causes them to give up with their jobs. The stagnating nature of airline companies is also a major contributor to the common problem of fewer pilots available.
There has been a recent case of forcing pilots to retire at a certain age which was not the case during early times and this makes many people lose interest in being pilots. Nowadays, many people prefer other professions to pilot due to the reasons they have each as an individual.
Reduction of regional airline flying schedule has contributed greatly to pilot shortage as it has reduced the job market and as people see the job market reduced, they find out other best options.
Also, training schools are overcharging their students while they undertake the course and those who do not afford to opt to find other courses as piloting is not the only course available. There’s a way that aircraft users are really suffering due to lack of pilots.
The amount of fare that is charged after the shortage is higher than the one that was being charged initially and this greatly impacts those who wish to travel using aircraft but they lack that amount of money to pay. Since there arose a shortage in pilots available, a lot of delays have been experienced in airports and even to the extent of some travels being canceled and this greatly affects peoples plans. Pilots, and instructors are dependent on each other and this is there’s a shortage in one this also means that the other will experience a shortage.
On the other hand, as pilot shortage has other impacts, it is actually good news to some individuals across the globe. There are a number of things that need to be done for this problem to be resolved. The disparity between the pilots demanded and those to be supplied need to be solved.
Initial problems should be solved to ensure that does not become a concern in future. Pilot students need to be offered some sponsorship since some are them are unable to cater for their education needs. When tuition fees are reduced, many people can enroll in those schools and this helps solve the shortage issue.
